It runs in two parallel plots. There is a well-established mythological narrative
on Ayurveda’s origin, that this encyclopedia of medical knowledge is celestial. It is
clear from the in-depth reviews of Ayurveda treatises that this level of detail would
not have been achieved without exhaustive observations and experiments on human
beings. This disagreement in the history of Ayurveda forms the primary theme in this
novel. The second parallel plot is of contemporary relevance, the commercial focus
of a tiny group of pharma companies resulting in dreadfully unethical practices.
Through this duet, the novelist envisages an altered thought among a new generation
on the ultimate aim of their profession.
